This red brick building, formerly used by Barmer, is
near the bus stop “Feuerbachstraße” on the bus routes
780, 782 and 785, which go from Heinrich-Heine-Allee
towards Erkrath, Solingen or Langenfeld. It is 350
metres’ walk
(5 minutes) along Fruchtstraße from the metro and tram
stop “Karolingerplatz”. From the mainline station,
take tram 704 to Karolingerplatz.
Limited parking might be possible along Feuerbachstraße.
From now on, meetings will start at 16:30!

Remains of the Italian occupation of Rhodes through the eyes of Lawrence Durrell

Before the island of Rhodes was handed back to Greece after centuries of occupation by Turks, Italians and Germans it was administered briefly by Britain. Durrell wrote his famous account “Reflections of a Marine Venus” in 1853 after having been stationed there.
This talk by Dr Michael Heinze takes Durrell's writing as a launching pad to explore this fascinating part of Rhodes' history.
