IMPORTANT: Due to the current virus outbreak all ESC events are suspended until further notice!
Update, April 19:
We hope you are all keeping well in these unprecedented times!
It is sad not to be seeing any of you for so long!
As the present restrictions continue until at least May 4th, it
will be clear that our meeting on
Saturday, 25th April, cannot take place.
The Orange Planet Theatre, like other theatre groups, has not been
able to rehearse, and their other May performances have already
been cancelled, so we have agreed that their readings on
Saturday, 9th May, will not take place either. The chances are
high that they would still not be allowed anyway.
We hope to be able to re-schedule both these events in another
And in view of the closeness of the contact involved in a Scrabble
evening, we are stating right now that our meeting on
Saturday, 13th June, will not take place either.
It is very disappointing to have such a long period without
events. As compensation to members for the cancelled events between
March and June, we plan to reduce membership for 2021 for those
who have paid a membership fee for 2020.
If an easing of restrictions during the summer allows us to expect
a return to something like a normal cultural program, then we
would hope to issue the autumn program during July or August, with
or without a late summer outing.
Wishing you a healthy and happy summer in spite of the
